Regarding using DA14531 in the design and it's Antenna Design Tips

HI,

We have used DA14531 in our Design. We have followed the documents Gerber-DA14531-db-qfn24_vF_(376-04-F) and DA14531-db-qfn24_vF2_(376-04-F)-SCH for Antenna Design.

Let me know is it OK to proceed with the design.Let me know.

Can you share other document for Antenna Design for DA 14531?. We find the track width for Antenna Route is more.

Let me know how much track width we can keep as we are using inverted F Antenna for our Design. Is second Pie filter is a must in antenna design?.

If you keep the conversation confidential then I can share our first revision of SCH and Gerber file.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi deshpandead,

Hi deshpandead,

Thanks for your question online and glad for using our newest Smartbond device for your design.

Initially, I would suggest you to read theAN-B-075: DA14531 Hardware Guidelinesdocument which provides the minimal reference schematic, circuit explanation, and design guidelines for BLE applications based on the DA14531 SoC. In addition,DA14531 DEVKT -Pro Daughterboard QFN24 Electrical Schematicdocument could be a reference for starting your design based on DA14531, as you mentioned in your thread. This is the schematic and layout that we are using in our DKs.

Regarding the antenna design, I would recommend you to readAN-B-027: Designing Printed Antennas for Bluetooth Smart文档提供了指南for designing printed antennas on single-layer and multi-layer PCB stack-ups. Sections 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 contain HW guidelines for the Inverted-F Antenna (IFA). In the DA14531 support port, you will also find the appropriate DXF files for the antennas describes in the AN-B-027 document.

Regarding your schematic review, let me check it if it possible and I will let you know.

Best regards, PM_Dialog

I'm having a similar interest

I'm having a similar interest in the DA14531 and hardware guidelines for it. However, the link to theAN-B-075: DA14531 Hardware Guidelinesdocument you posted seems to be broken. Is there an updated link available? Thank you!

Hi,

Hi,

We have used DA14531-00000OG2 (WLCSP17 package) in our design, referring to the an-b-075_da14531_hardware_guidelines_1v3_0 and I have also attached the design....

Please let e know if any changes needed..

And Can you please suggest an ceramic antenna that works with DA14531..preferably the one which someone has already tested..

Thanks in advance

Shilpa

Hi Shilpa,

Hi Shilpa,

谢谢你的评论。如果有可能,I would suggest to create a new one with your issue just to make sure that we won’t miss any comment.

Could you please indicate which configuration you would like to use? Please take a look at Figures 9, 10 and 11 from the DA14531 Hardware Guidelines and use same configuration according to your requirements. Please use same values for the capacitors / inductors.

you will find examples too in the DA14531 product page under Hardware Design Examples section,

Generally, every ceramic chip antenna for the 2.4GHz band could be used. However, the antenna selection is closely depended on the board. Different ceramic antennas might have special placement needs : some needs to be mounted on the edge, some needs ground free bottom layer, etc.

Thanks, PM_Dialog
