Smart Tags and iOS

Have just received two smart tag reference sample devices; when used with the SmartTags iOS app, the devices are recognised and the RSSI is correctly reported and updated, but neither the immediate alarm nor the distance alarm work at all. The warmer/hotter etc part of the app works fine. Has been tried on a couple of iPhones, both using iOS 8.3.

Hi Tony, i just tried this

Hi Tony, i just tried this at home and it worked fine. The slider was set to about half , and about 4M away the LED /buzzer on the tag sound and the alarm on the phone goes off. There was a slgiht delay. This is using 8.3 on an iphone 5s. The immediate alarm works just fine also.

The immediate alarm also works directly from lightblue (write 02 into the immediate alert).

The only difference i have is that i am running two images on my tag (using SUOTA), but they are identical apart from the tone it plays and the revision number, so should be identical in all other repsects.

Could you provide a reference

Lightblue sees the tag and have written to the Immediate Alert as you suggest but no alarm on either device. Using the SUOTA app I can see Firmware rev. v_3.0.7.440 and Software rev. v_3.20.6.25. I assume this verifies the integrity of the image. Am investigating further but any suggestions welcome.

Hi Tony, yes, sounds like the image is just fine. i will send you a couple of images that you can try - if those don't work, it sounds like a hardware fault with the tag buzzer , but normally they are quite robust.
