GPIO Drive Strength

When using the pins as GPIO output, what is the max current a pin can supply? I can not find this information in the data sheet.

Thank you,
Andy

Hi areilly,

Hi areilly,

According to the datasheet p.6 Table 3 is 4.8mA.

Thanks MT_dialog

I connect one LED directly to

I connect one LED directly to PIN6 of port 0. When output is High the current flow that I have measured is about 25mA. So... What is it the 4.8mA value indicated on datasheet?

Hi giuseppe,

Hi giuseppe,

The 4.8mA is the suggested drive value of the GPIO's respecting the Voh and Vol levels. Its being noticed that by short circuiting a GPIO which was set to Output, High it will deliver about 25mA short circuit current without damaging it, but its not advised to do, perhaps the LED your are trying to connect has a defect. I can think of any other reason.

Thanks MT_dialog
