External Parts for DA14580

Hello,

I am planning to use DA14580 SoC with an external MCU-MSP430 by TexasInstr for a project. My questions are:
1) what external parts do we need for the SoC to get it "working"?Is it an off the shelf product?
我的意思是,除了鲍威r supply(e.g. battery) is anything else needed? I saw in the datasheet a reference about an inductor and a capacitor..
2) DA14580 needs an antenna extra?
3) Is it possible to communicate with other bluetooth devices and are there any restrictions, regarding bluetooth versions etc?

It's the first time I'm getting involved with something like this!

Thank you in advance

Hello efimout,

Hello efimout,

JE_Dialog : take a look at the reference design schematics to give you an idea of the typical implementation.

2) DA14580 needs an antenna extra?

[JE_Dialog]Yes, it needs external antenna. You can also find the DA14580 in module format from Panasonic and Murata : this would be my recommended route as they are pre-certified to FCC/CE and this will give you a much simpler way to hook up to an MSP430 or other similar IC.

3) Is it possible to communicate with other bluetooth devices and are there any restrictions, regarding bluetooth versions etc?

[JE_Dialog] Its fully compatible with the bluetooth 4.0/4.1 eco system : so as long as you are using the profiles, ill not be ay interoperability problem wiht other 4.0/4.1 implementations.

Thank you so much for your

Thank you so much for your reply, it was really helpfull!
One extra question :
as I saw there are PWM outputs so that can control a small motor for example(right?)
On the module format from Panasonic/Murata i guess it's still possible to use PWM outputs(im asking cause in their datasheets it isn't mentioned sth relevant)

Hello efimout,

Hello efimout,

yes, the IC inside the modules is the DA14580 so that shuold be possible.
